Every commercial truck driver is required to carry specific documents in their vehicle at all times β not just for legal compliance, but also for their safety, liability protection, and smooth inspections. Below is your ultimate checklist. β Bookmark this page and never miss a required doc again!
π 1. Driverβs License (CDL)
πΉ A valid Commercial Driverβs License is a must.
πΈ Must match the class and endorsements required for the type of vehicle you're operating.
π 2. Medical Examinerβs Certificate (DOT Medical Card)
π Required to prove you're medically qualified to operate a CMV.

Keep it up to date and within the valid period (typically 24 months).

π Always carry your insurance card or certificate of insurance (COI).
π’ The insurance must meet minimum FMCSA liability limits.
